Best free AI interior design app (tested)
RoomsGPT. In our Oct 16, 2026 same-room test it kept the original room best, needed no login, and took about 15 seconds. Its free output has a small watermark. Paintit came second but requires email signup and used 8 of 30 free credits for one image. In our second test (furnished bedroom) Reimagine Home kept the structure best, with RoomsGPT tied 2nd, so RoomsGPT is the most consistent across both tests.
Based on our hands-on test on Oct 16, 2026: Empty white room (right-wall window, concrete floor, left-wall outlet), prompt "Living Room + Scandinavian". Tools change often; see full test results and warnings.

Tools we could not test
- Collov AI: Could not test: signup bug. Email verification accepts the code but never creates the account (tried twice on Oct 16, 2026).
- AiHouse: Not tested: requires Google/Facebook login.
- DecorAI: Could not test without a card: the site advertises '3 Free Designs', but Generate opens a trial that becomes $24/month (plans $24/mo, $120/6 months, $240/year). We stopped before entering a card; there was no free generation without starting a trial (Oct 16, 2026).
