Warnings: gotchas we actually hit

"No signup" claims that required signup
- Paintit.ai: email signup required despite a "no signup" claim.
- MeltFlex: email code login required despite the claim.
- HomeDesignsAI: was no-login in our first test, but now requires login (email, Google or Facebook) to generate.
- AiHouse: requires Google or Facebook login, so we did not test it.
"Free designs" that start a paid trial
DecorAI advertises "3 Free Designs", but Generate opens a trial that becomes $24/month (plans $24/mo, $120/6 months, $240/year). We stopped before entering a card. There was no free generation without starting a trial.
Broken signup
Collov AI: email verification accepts the code but never creates the account (tried twice).
No free download
Homestyler: the free plan can't download results; download is members-only (paid from $6.80/mo, per homestyler.com/pricing, checked Oct 16, 2026).
Watermarks on most free outputs
7 of 8 tools we tested watermarked the free image in test 1. Watermark behavior varied: Paintit's test 1 image had a large watermark, but its test 2 image had no watermark we could see.
